About me

myself
This is me.

My name is Diletta and I was born in a small town in Italy.
I got a BA and a MA in International Relations in Italy. Then, I briefly lived in the US and Taiwan, and finally moved to Japan in 2013. Now I’m very slowly studying for my Ph.D in International Relations, while working at university in the field of academic writing.

In the past, I also worked as an English teacher in various settings, translated stuff, volunteered as a concert reporter, worked as an internet assessor and wrote for Japan-focused blogs.

If I’m not working, I’m

  • at a concert in a dirty venue somewhere in Tokyo, or
  • in a stationery shop buying insane amount of THINGS, or
  • in a cafe/at home/in a library, writing my next (unfinished) novel.

I published some short stories and won a few poetry prizes in Italy.

While most of my writing used to be in Italian, I don’t really use my native language anymore, so after a long break I’ve decided to restart my creative endeavors in English.

While my main domain is dedicated to my Italian writing, I will use this blog for my ramblings about anything creative writing in English… and stationery! Follow me on Instagram for pictures of my ever growing collection and creative writing posts.
